Sylvain Dupuis appointed Managing Vice-President
of Desjardins Business Capital régional et coopératif
He will oversee management of a portfolio of nearly $1 billion invested in 400 companies
spanning all of Québec's 17 administrative regions
Montréal, December 8, 2016 - Luc Ménard, Chief Operating Officer of Desjardins Business Capital régional et coopératif, announces the appointment of Sylvain Dupuis to the position of Managing Vice-President of the organization's Investments Division. Joining the Desjardins Group entity which manages development capital funds, including Capital régional et coopératif Desjardins, Capital croissance PME and Desjardins-Innovatech SEC six years ago, Mr. Dupuis will be responsible for all Investments impacting the Québec economy, representing nearly $1 billion.
In his new functions, Mr. Dupuis will lead a team of about 40 professionals with a presence across Québec and specializing in company buyouts, development capital, business transfers and supporting the growth and development of cooperatives.
"Sylvain Dupuis has a professional track record spanning more than 30 years, primarily in the service and manufacturing industries," noted Luc Ménard. "His career includes numerous value added achievements within public, private and development-stage companies, both nationally and on the international front."
With a degree in accounting from Université du Québec à Montréal, he is a member of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec and the Ordre des administrateurs agréés du Québec. Mr. Dupuis serves on the boards of directors of several charitable organizations in the Montréal area.
