MONTREAL, May 1, 2017 - As part of Mental Health Week in Canada, Desjardins Foundation, together with Kids Help Phone, created a new tool for parents. Lending a Kid a Helping Hand is a simple brochure containing tips to help detect when a kid is going through a tough time so that adults can keep an eye on their loved one's mental health. The brochure, containing many useful resources, comes with a magnet displaying the Kids Help Phone phone number and website. Parents can place it in a key area of their home, in plain site.

An online version of the brochure is also available.

In 2016 alone, Kids Help Phone provided more than 145 counselling sessions a day in Canada, totalling 52,749 sessions. The need is very real!
