Montreal, September 23, 2019 - The Desjardins GoodSpark program supporting social entrepreneurs will be showcased in the new season of Dragons' Den, which premieres this Thursday, September 26 at 9:00 p.m. EST.
The popular CBC prime-time program will feature pitches from eight outstanding social entrepreneurs from across Canada who are supporting youth in areas such as education, employment, health and the environment. Those who are successful may receive a financial investment from one or more of the Dragons, all of whom are accomplished entrepreneurs and investors.
But that's not all! The social entrepreneurs will also receive additional financial and in-kind support and other resources through the Desjardins GoodSpark program.
The GoodSpark segments will be highlighted throughout the Dragons' Den season, which airs from September to November, beginning with the premiere episode which features Jenn Harper of Cheekbone Beauty, a start-up cosmetics company serving Indigenous women.
Desjardins is a partner with Dragons' Den in presenting the GoodSpark program and the Desjardins brand will be featured prominently in each episode. Desjardins will also have a "partner page" on the CBC-Dragons' Den website, which will include an interview with Desjardins President and CEO Guy Cormier about the GoodSpark program along with feature articles and videos about various social entrepreneurs supported by Desjardins.
In addition, the Toronto Star and the Metro papers across the country will run feature articles on four of the GoodSpark funding recipients after each of their segments airs on Dragons' Den.
GoodSpark by Desjardins is a program that supports socially conscious ventures with a purpose. With a little help, these ventures can be financially viable and have a positive impact on the community.
